Last weekend, M and I were invited to attend the Grand Opening Party of Chiang Mai’s newest boutique hotel 137 Pillars House. The dress code was Modern Oriental (blue or white) with hat or head dress. Of course, I wanted to make an ‘entrance’ didn’t I? Inspired by this fabulous headpiece I found via Pinterest, my new junior assistant and I proceeded to make our own…..

I felt like I was in school again. We made the skull cap out out paper mache

Once the cap was dry, I made the cap more streamlined and added the mohawk.

I painted the hat blue so that it provided a seamless backdrop for the feathers...

A bit of superglue, some strange looks and a few feathers later......ta dah!!
